Finance Officer (Purchase Ledger)

Bespoke Recruitment is currently working with a local Rugby client, helping them appoint a Finance Officer to the Head Office team. As Finance Officer you will:
Report to the Finance Manager and work alongside a team of fellow Finance officers in a close-knit team of 9. The main focus of your role will be to
- Processing invoices, staff expenses and bank payments on the accounting system and deal with any AP queries
- Monitor and maintain the purchase order log process
- Obtain correct authorisation of all purchase transactions, including petty cash
- Produce reports as required including aged creditor reports and quarterly turnover reports
- Correctly code all expenditure in liaison with budget holders
- Ensure the correct treatment of VAT
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- Ensure invoices are paid within the company timescales
- Support the wider finance function where applicable
Your experience:
You will have previous experience of working in a transactional finance team and have in-depth experience of dealing with all aspects of Purchase Ledger from processing through to the payments process. You'll also need to be comfortable communicating with multiple stakeholders across the business to gain the necessary information to fulfil your responsibilities too. Any previous experience of working within the charitable or not for profit sector would be advantageous. You will need to be familiar with Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook, training will be offered on the internal finance system. Most importantly, our client is looking for you to bring a real enthusiasm and passion for what you do.
