Are you an experienced Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant with experience working in a practice environment?

We are currently working with a long-established accountancy practice to help them appoint an additional member to their Warwickshire office. They are shortly moving to a new office based in Leamington Spa and would love to have you join them for this exciting move.

Our client would be classified as a smaller practice environment and as such cannot offer the career development opportunities that some of their larger competitors can. However, they offer a great working environment with a fully supportive senior management team and a friendly, inclusive culture.

About the role:

You’ll be stepping into an experienced team of around 10 colleagues and will support a variety of bookkeeping activities for a range of limited companies, sole traders and partnerships. Tasks will include the production of VAT returns, accounts preparation, personal tax returns and various activities regarding the correspondence with both clients and HMRC.

About you:

You’ll already have a min of a couple of years experience of working in a practice environment, dealing with the everyday bookkeeping activities. If you haven’t had exposure to personal tax returns as yet, don’t worry, it’s something our client is happy to show you. You’ll have a good knowledge of all matters relating to VAT and proven communication skills to aid with the building of strong client relationships. Ideally, you’ll have experience with cloud-based accounting software, Xero would be perfect!.

Our client has a flexible attitude to WFH some of the time, once you have settled in, they envisage that the working week could be split into a few days in the office and a couple working from home. They’re quite flexible on when you work your 7.5 hour day too. Some employees choose to stick to the regular 8.30 am – 5.00 pm whilst others rise early and like to be in the office for 7.00 am and leave early…either way, our client is flexible.
